The International Wine of the Month Club's Premier Series was the first monthly club started by MonthlyClubs.com in 1994. Products
In the Premier Series, you will receive red and/or white wine from different international wineries. While the grape varietals and regions vary, all of the featured wines are considered estate-bottled, limited production boutique wines.
- "Estate-bottled" essentially means the wine was produced and bottled at the winery. Since the grapes were grown on the winery's vineyard, the winemaker is able to oversee the maturation and harvest of each grape varietal to ensure its quality. This is an important distinction because some lesser quality wineries will purchase grapes each year on the open market to mass-produce wine. In doing so, their wine will lack the unique flavor, aroma and feel of a grape varietal grown/bottled in a specific region.
Membership Options
The Premier Series requires a 2-shipment minimum and allows you to choose whether you want an ongoing membership or whether you want to set your membership between 2-12 months. Each shipment will contain two bottles of wine, and you can opt to receive shipments of only red wine, only white wine or a mix of red and white. You can also decide to pay for your membership in one installment or to pay for shipments as they are sent out. Shipping options include a monthly, bimonthly or quarterly delivery schedule, but you can also choose a different schedule through the Design Your Own Club™ program (details below).

I couldn't find any independent (unbiased) online reviews of the International Wine of the Month Club's Premier Series, but MonthlyClubs.com's says that 98% of their customers highly recommend them. In general, MonthlyClubs.com is a reputable company that has received an A+ rating from the BBB and has been a BBB Accredited business since October 2005. While most things about the Premier Series are typical of any value wine club (newsletters, gift notification, etc.), there are a few features that set it apart from the competition. First, they seem to have a more rigorous selection process in place with over 40 wine enthusiasts (from novice tasters to sommeliers) weighing in on each bottle. By offering a 100% satisfaction guarantee and publicly archiving their previous wine selections, the International Wine of the Month Club demonstrates complete confidence in their product, as well as a true commitment to customer service. Another feature that differentiates MonthlyClubs.com is that you are able to use their Design Your Own Club™ program to customize your wine club membership and even combine it with any of their other monthly clubs.
