Chanel Mousse Douceur is a rinse-off foaming facial cleanser designed to gently purify your skin of surface oils, dirt and makeup. It is specifically formulated for normal to combination skin and incorporates a unique blend of active ingredients that includes tulip tree extract and mallow extract. Tulip tree extract traps and removes environmental toxins from your skin, while mallow extract sooths skin and helps maintain moisture levels. The cleanser works to restore your skin's natural eco-balance and prevent free radical damage to the skin, which can lead to premature aging.
You can purchase Chanel Mousse Douceur on Chanel.com, Amazon.com or Shop.nordstrom.com for $45.
We give Chanel's Mousse Douceur Rinse-Off Foaming Mousse Cleanser a B+ because it is a good cleanser that is effective at removing makeup and impurities. We like how it smells and the way it lathers up really nicely. We deducted points however because it is very expensive and might not be great for dry and/or sensitive skin.
There are very few online reviews for Chanel Mousse Douceur, but the ones I saw were all positive. In 2009, it was awarded "Best Wash off Cleanser" in InStyle's Best Beauty Buys, and ELLE Canada/ELLE Quebec gave it "Best Cleanser" in the "Splurge" category of its Beauty Grand Prix awards. My mother and sister both have combination skin and love this cleanser. My skin is more sensitive, and I personally feel that it has made me breakout in the past. I saw one review that said the foaming ingredients in the cleanser were needlessly drying for skin and suggested a gentler foaming cleanser from Neutrogena, Dove or L'Oreal. If you are a die hard Chanel fan already, you probably don't care about the price, but I would definitely suggest trying to get a sample of the cleanser before you buy it to see how your skin reacts.
