As the world's 2nd largest sportswear manufacturer, Adidas is one of the most well-known and well-respected brands in business today. Its distinctive three-stripe logo carries with it the company's remarkable reputation for blending exceptional style with high-performance technologies. Its subsidiary, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, is no different and has made it their mission be the market leader in golf equipment and apparel innovation and excellence. In 2005, Adidas Golf launched what has become the highly successful Tour360 golf shoe line. Following the launch, Adidas tirelessly collected feedback from PGA Tour players on how the shoe could be improved, and, in 2011, introduced the Tour360 ATV (All-Terrain Versatility) shoe. The Tour360 ATV has unmatched flexibility and zonal traction capabilities that provide a more stable hitting platform regardless of the grounds conditions, terrain, lie or angle. In addition to enhanced stability, the ATV's patent pending construction also has a better, more comfortable fit and waterproof technology that will keep your feet cool and dry throughout your round.
You can purchase Adidas Tour360 ATV on TaylorMadeGolf.com for about $160.
We give the Adidas Tour 360 ATV golf shoes a B+ because they offer players excellent flexibility, traction and stabilization for a smoother, stronger swing regardless of weather, terrain or lie. While these are great golf shoes, we had to deduct a few points because there were some complaints about the sizing and there were also mixed reviews about the shoe’s overall comfort. Some customers even complained that the edge of the shoe rubbed uncomfortably against their ankle. Additionally, there were some complaints that the cleats marked up the greens a lot and needed to be cleaned out often if there was a lot of debris on the course.
Pros
Cons
The Adidas Tour360 ATVs have received great reviews from customers online including a 4.9/5 on TGW.com (33 reviews), a 5/5 on RockBottomGolf.com (23 reviews) and a 4.5/5 on Amazon.com (8 reviews). All customers seemed very happy with the traction provided with the shoes, but some were slightly annoyed about marking up greens and having to clean out grass and leaves during the round. There were mixed reviews on the comfort of the shoes, but that could be due to having an improper size. I wasn't able to find consensus on how true to size the ATVs run, so I would definitely suggest getting fitted in a store and walking around in them to see how they feel. Some people even complained that the shoes were cut too high and that the edge was rubbing against their anklebone. Probably not something you want to find out mid way through walking 18 holes.
At this point in time, the Tour360 ATV has only been around for about a year, so it's still trying to gain some traction (so to speak) with professional and amateur players. It hasn't won any awards yet, but it has received a fair amount of positive press. In an April 2012 footwear report from GolfDigest.com, the Tour360 ATV was named as one of 24 models that "will change the way your feet feel and your swing moves". When I spoke with an Adidas customer service representative, he said that Dustin Johnson and Jim Furyk were the only PGA Tour players wearing the ATV model. In general, it sounds like the Tour360 ATV preforms well, but may not be suited for all players depending on foot size and playing style/conditions.
