Overview
As part of Conair's Professional Products Division, BaBylissPRO is a provider of leading professional styling tools. The Carrera 2 Porcelain Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer uses two different types of technology, ionic and porcelain, to reduce frizz and static, while cutting drying time and damage to hair. This dryer is compact, but incredibly powerful due to its high performance AC motor. It's time to throw out your drugstore hair dryer, and treat yourself to an affordable professional dryer that will leave you looking like you just left the salon every day. The Carrera 2 can be found on Amazon for $60 and is backed by a 3 year limited warranty.
Product Report Card Grade
We give the BaBylissPRO’s Carrera 2 Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer a B+ because it allows you to achieve salon-quality blowouts from the comfort of your own home. While it is a professional-grade hair dryer, it is not as expensive as similar models and is still as effective. We had to deduct a few points, however, because there were some complaints about the dryer being top-heavy and about the concentrator nozzle blowing off while using the higher power settings.

Drying Technology
In addition to providing improved heat distribution to prevent hair damage, the Carrera 2's ceramic ionic technology also reduces overall drying time and seals the cuticle to make hair silkier and shinier.
While improved heat distribution reduces hair damage, a tourmaline-coated ionic generator substantially cuts drying time and seals the cuticle to lock in moisture and reduce frizz and static by 90%. One interesting bonus feature of the 4000i is that it has an ion switch, which you can leave on for smooth/straight hair or turn off if you want to add more volume.
The Infiniti 223x has tourmaline ceramic coils that prevent damage to hair because they can distribute heat more evenly. The ionic generator also helps to reduce drying time and leave hair smooth and shiny.
