Overview

Since launching in 2004, Sedu has become one of the top ranked professional styling tool brands. Sedu works with stylists and scientists to engineer amazing products with innovative technologies, like ceramic and tourmaline, that work to control static and frizz leaving only shiny, healthy, beautiful looking hair. The Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Hair Dryer is an excellent example of their hard work. The 4000i uses a tourmaline coated ionic generator, which seals the cuticle to lock in moisture and breakup water molecules. This technology produces negative ions that reduce frizz and static by 90% and cut drying time in half.

The Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Hair Dryer can be purchased online for about $160. It is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Product Report Card Grade

We give Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Hair Dryer an A- because it is an amazing, professional-grade hair dryer that is powerful, light and compact. It has a long cord length and features multiple heat and speed settings for easily styling/setting your blowout. While it is truly one of the best hair dryers at this price point, we still had to deduct a few points because it is very expensive. There were also some complaints that the buttons were awkwardly placed and that it was more top-heavy than other professional hair dryers.

Drying Technology
While improved heat distribution reduces hair damage, a tourmaline-coated ionic generator substantially cuts drying time and seals the cuticle to lock in moisture and reduce frizz and static by 90%. One interesting bonus feature of the 4000i is that it has an ion switch, which you can leave on for smooth/straight hair or turn off if you want to add more volume.
The Infiniti 223x has tourmaline ceramic coils that prevent damage to hair because they can distribute heat more evenly. The ionic generator also helps to reduce drying time and leave hair smooth and shiny.
In addition to providing improved heat distribution to prevent hair damage, the Carrera 2's ceramic ionic technology also reduces overall drying time and seals the cuticle to make hair silkier and shinier.

Reputation

The Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Hair Dryer has been receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews on the Folica site for those seeking a salon-perfect look at home. It’s a little pricier than other dryers with similar technology, but the motor should have a longer lifespan than the cheaper ones. Full disclosure, the author of this review purchased the 4000i as a gift for her mother and she loves it.

Hair Dryer Review- Sedu
Review submitted: 2013-09-10
I have thick natural hair and A LOT of it. This is THE BEST hair dryer I have ever owned. I typically use a dryer to blowout my hair then go through it with a flat iron. Or sometimes I just blowout my hair (blow it out straight or if i wear my hair au naturale I just quickly dry my hair with it.) I like that it is small, not heavy, and gets the job done. Has the option of whether you want it to be smooth or have more volume, hot or warm and there's a cool shot button, high or low (speed), and comes with nozzle attachments. I like the fact that it is powerful enough to get the job done (dry or dry and straight), and it doesn't always have to be at the highest setting either and the results are still great. I LOVE the fact that it was worth every penny to me, after using it I didn't feel like oh I could have gotten the same results with a cheaper dryer. I like the versatility of it and the fact that it really it "quieter" than other dryers I have tried in the past. Haven't noticed any real damage to my hair while using it. The only things I do not like about it is that based on where the cool shot button is placed you can accidentally press the button while styling your hair. I also do not like that when using it on a day where say i am not "blowing my hair out" but simple just trying to dry it quickly wearing my hair in its natural state i do loose some of my curls but that could just be my hair. I do not notice any shine from the dryer itself but it does help with frizz/smoothness. And even though its small but powerful my arms do get tired but that's only because I have a lot of hair ( not the dryers fault). I LOVED this dryer and felt in the end it was worth it.
